Certificates of Deposit (CD)

Certificates of Deposit (CDs) are a great way to earn higher yields on your deposits. Funds are placed on deposit for a specified term and a penalty is imposed for early withdrawal.

CD Rate Special

4.15% APY  11-Month Term

Earn more on your deposits by opening this Certificate of Deposit with money you transfer from lower-paying accounts at other financial institutions.

APY = Annual Percentage Yield. Minimum $1,000 new money to open. Transfers between Tech Credit Union accounts do not qualify. Penalty imposed for early withdrawal. Principal and interest transfer to Membership Savings at end of term.  Offer may end or change without notice.

 

Regular CDs

  • $1,000 minimum to open.
  • Must have $25.00 in Membership Savings.
  • Automatically renews at maturity to same term (10-day grace period provided).
  • Interest earnings are deposited to Membership Savings or Checking account monthly.

Compound CDs

  • $1,000 minimum to open.
  • Must have $25.00 in Membership Savings.
  • Higher annual percentage yield than Regular CDs due to compounding dividends.
  • At maturity, the principal deposit and interest earnings transfer to your Membership Savings or Checking account.

Premium CDs

  • $1,000 minimum to open.
  • Must have $25.00 in Membership Savings.
  • .125% rate bonus to members who have combined deposit and loan service balances of $25,000 or more (excluding Premium CDs) or to members who are 60 years or older and maintain a $5,000 balance in Membership Savings.
  • Available as a Regular or Compound CD.

 

Jumbo CDs

  • $100,000 minimum to open.
  • Must have $25.00 in Membership Savings.
  • Offer a higher annual percentage yield than regular CDs.
  • Available as a Regular or Compound CD.

48 Month Bump CD

  • $1,000 minimum to open.
  • Must have $25.00 in Membership Savings.
  • Offers a "bump rate" option that provides one rate adjustment to the current rate being paid. New rate is then earned from the date of rate change to original maturity.
  • Available as a Regular or Compound CD.

CDs available as "compound" CDs provide greater earnings by compounding dividends until maturity. Regular & Premium CDs require a $1,000 minimum deposit. Jumbo CDs require $100,000 minimum deposit.

Tech Credit Union is prohibited from paying dividends in excess of earnings. Dividends are paid from current income and available earnings, after required transfers to reserves at the end of a dividend period.
